Chester is a sweet natured Connemara X, a very kind pony, who would be the perfect companion for any other kind horse. He is low in the pecking order, never kicks or bites, and is playful, and loves to swim. He has good ground manners, and floats beautifully (he self loads) He can not be ridden.
He is easy to worm, very easy to catch if he has a halter on, and picks up his feet well. He is a very good doer. He will lick you and is a pleasure to have around, never pushy. He has done natural horsemanship training and is Hendra vaccinated. He has just has his teeth done by a professional equine dentist and his teeth are perfect, can show records.
Chester's story:
I was looking for an athletic riding pony and he seemed to be just what I was looking for, until I discovered his back problem. It took three specialists until he was diagnosed, Chester came to me with a back problem called "Kissing Spine Syndrome"
I have tried many treatments, and now he is comfortable, and requires no medication or further treatments, but he can never be ridden again. I have taken him out regularly so he enjoys a walk on the beach, through the forest and is lovely to take a walk with, or he leads well from another horse.
He is now a happy well adjusted horse loveable pony, and so it is time for me to find a home for him where he will have a useful life as a companion. He had a hard mouth and used to spook, and this I attributed to the pain he was in whilst being ridden. His back was very sensitive, and dipped under any hand pressure. So he is not the sort of horse a dealer could try and reinvent. But I am looking for a permanent home just in case, and will be visiting to ensure he is not sold on or ridden.
The only care he requires is that he is not allowed to get over weight, as this will affect his back, carrying a large belly. So he would require locking up at night fairly regularly so he can not graze, or a grazing muzzle perhaps.
